Two English speaking creators actually live in Slovenia.
We checked every other name on the lists.

51 channels, accounts, podcasts, references and communities covering life in Slovenia in English, every figure read on 18 September 2026. This is the thinnest English language creator field of the twenty one countries we have built, and we would rather show it at that size than pad it. Two active YouTube channels are run by people who live in Slovenia and neither of them is retired. What the country does have is nine official tourism accounts posting in English, a mountaineering association with 64,019 members that charges people over 65 twenty two euros a year, and a government that publishes residence guidance in English for EU citizens and then sends everybody else to a Slovenian only portal. Every card says which of those it is.

Four starting points. The Indian woman in Ljubljana who is currently filming the arrival paperwork step by step, the British government guide that is still the only end to end account of the move, the 1893 mountaineering association whose over 65 membership costs 22 euros, and the American in Ljubljana whose Slovenia back catalogue is the deepest there is, though he has been filming in Croatia since August.

Neha in Slovenia

4,400 subscribers, read off the channel page on 18 September 2026, and the single most useful English language channel about Slovenia that exists right now. She is publishing a numbered arrival series, one task per video: bus card is part four, SIM card part five, bank account part six, and she uploaded parts five and six on the same day. Alongside it sits a twenty question walk through of the Slovenian embassy interview, posted on 17 September 2026. This is the paperwork nobody else films. Two caveats we would rather give you than not: she is a young arrival rather than a retiree, so the pension and healthcare questions are not her subject, and the channel is small and new enough that it has no track record yet.

GOV.UK: Living in Slovenia

Published 4 November 2013 and last updated 11 December 2025, both read off the page itself. Twenty one sections: visas, residency and citizenship, residency for people who moved before 1 January 2021, Slovenian ID cards and residence permits, healthcare, working, driving and licence exchange, tax, pensions, benefits, buying and renting property, voting, studying, births, deaths and marriages, lawyers, translators and notaries, and pets. It is written for Britons and it is still the only document anywhere that covers the Slovenia move end to end and carries a date. Americans and Canadians can use most of it: the healthcare registration, driving, property and pet sections do not depend on your passport.

22 euros a year over 65

Planinska zveza Slovenije, the Alpine Association of Slovenia

64,019 members at the end of 2025 and 176 huts, bivouacs and shelters, both published by the association on 18 April 2026. The 2026 membership for an adult over 65 is 22 euros, in a category the association defines as a person older than 65; the full adult rate with the widest insurance is 62 euros and the basic adult rate is 30. That over 65 rate is the best value membership we have found in any of the twenty one countries: it carries 50 per cent off overnight stays in the huts, accident and mountain rescue insurance, and reduced rates on trips and courses. Two honest flags. The association publishes its 2026 fee table only as an image, so our figures come from a member society republishing it and should be confirmed before you budget on them. And English is reliable at national level but the individual societies run their trips in Slovenian, so ask the local branch before joining for the walking. President Martin Solar, elected 18 April 2026 for the 2026 to 2030 term.

Nine channels, and this is the smallest YouTube group in the rollout by a distance. Only two of the nine are made by somebody living in Slovenia, and a third is an American couple in Texas who are still researching the move and say so themselves. Three are official tourism boards and two teach the language. Every subscriber count below was read off the channel's own page on 18 September 2026 and every upload date came from the channel's official feed, so they are exact rather than approximate. We dropped more Slovenia channels than we kept, including the one every list recommends first, and the group lede for each drop is on the card or in the method note at the foot of this page.

The Euro Pats

Matt and Diane, a Texas couple who describe themselves as planning their retirement in Europe and are explicit that they are not there yet. They run a weekly live chat and take questions

5,000 subscribers, read off the channel page on 18 September 2026. We are listing them with the label they gave themselves, because it matters: they do not live in Slovenia and they say so. What they do have is a video posted on 12 September 2026 asking why more Americans are not retiring in Slovenia, which is the exact question our readers are asking and which nobody resident in the country has answered on camera. They also publish an honest piece on planning to retire in Italy and changing their minds two years later. Watch them as peers doing the same research, not as residents.

Learn Slovenian with Bojan

Bojan, a Slovene teaching Slovenian to English speakers. The channel is registered in Slovenia. We could not establish a surname or find a published price list, so we are not going to tell you what he sells

2,070 subscribers, read off the channel page on 18 September 2026, and the most reliably active Slovene teaching channel on YouTube: the latest upload is 15 September 2026 and the cadence has held. Eighty one videos, opened February 2019. The Word Journeys series takes one word at a time and is well suited to an adult beginner who wants twenty minutes rather than a course. Language is the thing every foreigner in Slovenia names as the real barrier, and two of the nine channels on this page are teaching it, which is a fair reflection of where the demand sits.

Anonymous. The channel publishes no operator name, no website and no commercial offer, and the description is YouTube's default placeholder text. We are saying so rather than inventing a teacher

6,860 subscribers, read off the channel page on 18 September 2026, which makes it the largest Slovene teaching channel we found. Seventy one videos since January 2018, covering pronunciation and everyday vocabulary for English speakers. One thing to weigh before you subscribe: the most recent upload is 22 September 2025, which is four days inside our twelve month cut off and no more than that. The material stands up and the language has not changed, but treat this as an archive that may or may not be added to.

9,010 subscribers, read off the channel page on 18 September 2026, and the second largest channel on this page. Ninety five videos since April 2020, latest 11 February 2026. Feel Slovenia

The Slovenian Tourist Board, the state tourism body. Nothing sold directly. The handle is slovenia, not feelslovenia, which is the opposite of the pattern on every other platform they use

10,000 subscribers, read off the channel page on 18 September 2026, against 1,438 videos going back to March 2006. That ratio is the point: the national board of a country of 2.1 million has high production values and a small community, and its best films are worth more than its reach suggests. Note that it publishes in both Slovenian and English on the same channel and the mix is roughly even, so expect to scroll. Useful for seeing regions and seasons properly filmed before you book a scouting trip.

Ljubljana Tourism, the city owned tourist board. Sells city cards, tours and tickets

1,600 subscribers against 214 videos since September 2009, read off the channel page on 18 September 2026, and still posting: the latest upload is 15 September 2026. Small numbers, but this is the official channel for the city two thirds of our Slovenia readers are considering, and the programme films are the honest version of what actually happens in Ljubljana across a year rather than in July. Their TikTok is twenty times the size of this channel, which says something about where the city's audience went.

Bled Slovenia

The Bled tourist board, for the lake and town that most British and American buyers look at first

808 subscribers against 125 videos since June 2010, read off the channel page on 18 September 2026, latest upload 15 September 2026. The smallest channel we have listed on any lifestyle page, and we are listing it because Bled is the single most searched relocation target in Slovenia and this is the only official moving picture of it. Watch the off season material rather than the summer material: Bled in February is the question you actually need answered.

Follow

Instagram and TikTok

Fourteen Instagram accounts and three on TikTok, and nine of the fourteen are tourism boards. That is not laziness on our part, it is what exists: Slovenia's English language Instagram layer is almost entirely official. Every handle below was confirmed from the organisation's own website or from the account's own bio, which matters here because the national board is feelslovenia on Instagram and feel.slovenia with a dot on TikTok, and the account plainly called slovenia belongs to somebody else. Every follower count was read off the profile itself on 18 September 2026. The three TikTok figures are third party approximations because TikTok is the one platform we cannot read directly, and we have said so on each card.

Instagram286,000 followers

Feel Slovenia

The Slovenian Tourist Board. The bio confirms it in its own words: official, tagged to the tourist board account. Nothing sold

286,000 followers and 6,842 posts, read off the profile on 18 September 2026, which makes this the largest Slovenia account anywhere and roughly three times the size of the next one. Captions run in English. It is national tourism marketing and we are not pretending otherwise, but for a reader deciding between the coast, the Alps and the Karst it is the cheapest way to see all three across a full year of weather. Note the handle: feelslovenia here, feel.slovenia with a dot on TikTok, and the account simply called slovenia belongs to somebody else entirely.

Instagram90,900 followers

Visit Ljubljana

Ljubljana Tourism. The bio reads official Instagram profile of Ljubljana Tourism and gives the office address on Krekov trg. Sells city cards and tours

90,900 followers and 3,992 posts, read off the profile on 18 September 2026. The most useful single account for anyone weighing the capital, because the highlights are organised by the things that decide whether a city works for you at sixty five: the Ljubljana card, the year round festival programme, central Slovenia beyond the ring road. It posts a lot and engages little, so treat it as a picture library of the city rather than a community.

Instagram69,000 followers

Lake Bled

The Bled tourist information centre. The account trades under Lake Bled and the handle is bledslovenia, while its Facebook is LakeBledSlovenia and its TikTok is bled.slovenia with a dot

69,000 followers and 4,100 posts, read off the profile on 18 September 2026. Bled is where most people start and where a good many stop, so use this account for the unglamorous question: what the lake and the town look like in November, February and March. The highlights cover the local bus, events and off season planning, which is more than most destination accounts bother with.

Instagram68,800 followers

Kranjska Gora

The Kranjska Gora tourist board, at the head of the valley on the Austrian and Italian borders. Address published in the bio

68,800 followers and 5,240 posts, read off the profile on 18 September 2026. Worth following if the alpine end of the country is your target, because the seasonal highlights are split winter by winter and summer by summer and show you exactly how much the place changes. This is the most genuinely four season corner of Slovenia and the account is honest about the snow and the road closures over the Vrsic pass.

Instagram52,500 followers

Exploring Slovenia

Jerneja Fidler Pompe, a Slovene who writes about the country's mountains in English. Disclosed: the same domain sells guided hut to hut treks and climbing with certified mountain guides, so this is a creator account and a business in one

52,500 followers and 2,776 posts, read off the profile on 18 September 2026, and the largest non official Slovenia account we could verify. The best answer on this page to the question a sixty two year old actually asks, which is whether they can still walk in this country and where. Trails, huts, gradients and conditions, written by somebody who is on them. Read the route detail and take the recommendations knowing she sells the guided version.

Instagram47,800 followers

Soca Valley

The Soca Valley tourist board, covering Bovec, Kobarid and Tolmin. Bio confirms the official account and gives the Bovec address

47,800 followers and 2,335 posts, read off the profile on 18 September 2026, and the healthiest engagement of any Slovenian board account we measured. This is the quiet west: cheaper property than Bled, Italy about forty minutes away, and a valley that empties out between October and May. The highlights include road and pass closures and visitor tips, which is the practical information people moving there need and rarely get.

Instagram33,700 followers

Bohinj

Bohinj Tourism, for the larger and quieter lake inside Triglav National Park, twenty six kilometres beyond Bled

33,700 followers and 3,294 posts, read off the profile on 18 September 2026. Listed because Bohinj is the answer for a good number of people who arrive wanting Bled and then see the prices. National park rules govern what you can build and alter, which is a real constraint on a renovation project and not something this account will tell you, so read it for the place and read the planning rules elsewhere.

Instagram28,900 followers

Visit Maribor

Maribor Tourism. The bio states official tourist account of Maribor Tourism, which is how we confirmed the handle: the board's own website blocks automated reading, so the account's own bio is the source

28,900 followers and 4,758 posts, read off the profile on 18 September 2026, and the strongest engagement rate of the nine boards here. Its own bio claims European Best Wine Capital 2026 and Best Green Capital 2025. Maribor is the value option in Slovenia, roughly half Ljubljana's price per square metre, with Austria over the hill and wine country on the doorstep. The account leans heavily on the Lent festival, so look past it for ordinary weeks.

Instagram19,700 followers

Postojna Cave

Postojnska jama, the company that runs the cave, the Predjama castle, a hotel and a vivarium. A commercial attraction operator, not a tourist board, and we are labelling it as one

19,700 followers and 1,806 posts, read off the profile on 18 September 2026. Included as the only account of any size covering the Karst, which is the region between the capital and the coast that most readers have never considered and where prices sit below the national median. Treat it as regional flavour with a ticket desk attached rather than as a guide to living there.

Instagram18,100 followers

THE SLOVENIA

A Ljubljana based curation brand trading at the-slovenia.com. It sells trips, gifts, a Slovenia map and its own book, which the highlights make plain. We could not establish who owns it

18,100 followers and 2,467 posts, read off the profile on 18 September 2026. Restaurants, wine, local producers and gifts, organised into a best of by year. Useful for building a list of places to eat and producers to visit on a scouting trip. We are listing the commercial interest and the missing ownership rather than presenting this as an independent guide, because it is not one.

Instagram17,300 followers

Portoroz and Piran

The Portoroz and Piran tourist board, which the bio confirms. Note the handle carries a dot, portoroz.piran, while the Pinterest is portorozpiran without one and the Facebook uses the Slovenian legal name

17,300 followers and 862 posts, read off the profile on 18 September 2026. Small, but this is the official account for the whole of Slovenia's 47 kilometres of coast, which is the default target for sun seeking British and American retirees. The highlights split the season properly into summer, the hinterland and wellness, and the hinterland material is the useful part: one valley inland is where the coast becomes affordable and liveable in August.

Instagram3,990 followers

LjubljanaYum food tours

Alenka Jeran and Meta Princic, running English language food, beer and wine walking tours in Ljubljana since 2013

3,990 followers and 1,622 posts, read off the profile on 18 September 2026. Small, real, local and in English, and one of very few ways a newcomer can meet people and learn the food in their first fortnight without speaking Slovene. One honest note: the pinned highlights stop at 2019, so while the account is live we could not date its recent posting, and the tours should be confirmed directly before you count on them.

Instagram2,602 followers

British Embassy Ljubljana

The UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. The bio confirms it is the official account of the British Embassy in Slovenia. Nothing sold

2,602 followers and 759 posts, read off the profile on 18 September 2026, and the highest utility per follower of anything on this page if you hold a British passport. It runs a dedicated UK nationals highlight, which is where residency status, consular notices, pensions and voting go. Tiny reach, official source, dated posts. Americans and Canadians should read it too, because the residency mechanics it describes apply to every third country national.

Instagram2,265 followers

Slovenia Times

Slovenia's English language news portal. Its own bio now says it is run by the Slovenian Press Agency, which is worth knowing because the two mastheads are easy to confuse online

2,265 followers and 502 posts, read off the profile on 18 September 2026. Small account, disproportionate value: this is where tax changes, budget decisions, energy prices and elections reach an English speaker who has not yet learned to read Slovenian. Caveat on the parent site, which we have set out on its card below: a large share of its recent output is syndicated commercial newswire copy with nothing to do with Slovenia.

TikTokapprox. 125,700 followers

Visit Ljubljana

Ljubljana Tourism, the same city board as above. The handle matches the Instagram, which we checked on the board's own website rather than assuming

Approximately 125,700 followers, from a third party tracker in September 2026. TikTok is the one platform we cannot read directly, so treat every figure in this group as an approximation. Worth knowing that this account is about twenty times the size of the same board's YouTube and considerably larger than its Instagram, which makes it the single biggest Slovenian destination audience anywhere.

TikTokapprox. 54,400 followers

Feel Slovenia

The Slovenian Tourist Board. Note the handle: feel.slovenia with a dot here, feelslovenia without one on Instagram. The board uses four different spellings across its platforms

Approximately 54,400 followers, from a third party tracker in September 2026, against 286,000 on Instagram. The national board is one of the very few organisations in Slovenia posting short form English video at any scale. Approximate figure, as with everything in this group.

TikTokapprox. 8,250 followers

Portoroz and Piran

The Portoroz and Piran tourist board. Handle confirmed from the board's own website

Approximately 8,250 followers, from a third party tracker in September 2026, but with an unusually high like to follower ratio, which suggests the account is genuinely watched rather than merely followed. Listed because the coast is the region our readers ask about most and this is the only official short form video of it. Approximate figure.

Podcasts

Four shows, two publishing and two stopped, and no podcast anywhere about moving to Slovenia. One American academic, Noah Charney, hosts or contributes to three of the four, which tells you how small the English language audio field is. The national broadcaster's English news podcast ran to 238 episodes and stopped on 14 May 2022; we have listed it because people still find it and should know it ended. Every episode count and date below came from Apple's lookup service rather than the rendered Apple page, which reports episode dates wrong by a year or two.

Podcast10 episodes, latest May 2026

The Ljubljana Podcast

10 episodes, the latest on 19 May 2026, confirmed against Apple's lookup service. It publishes rarely and it is the best English language audio about the country anyway. Episodes work through one subject at a time, learning Slovenian, cooking Slovenian, walking the Plecnik architecture, at the pace of somebody who lives there rather than somebody on a schedule. It previously ran under the name Slovenology, so older episodes appear under that title in some apps.

FEEL Slovenia Podcast

The Slovenian Tourist Board, with Noah Charney as a regular contributor. State funded national tourism marketing, which we would rather label than let you discover

50 episodes, the latest on 8 April 2026, confirmed against Apple's lookup service. The episode worth your time is the expat's view of what the board calls the world's best country, which is the nearest thing Slovenia has to a recorded interview about actually settling there. Everything else is destination marketing, well made and entirely uncritical. Listen for the places, not for the verdict.

The Bled Podcast

The Bled tourist board, presented by Noah Charney. Destination marketing for one town

21 episodes, the latest on 13 October 2025, confirmed against Apple's lookup service. That is eleven months of silence, so treat it as dormant rather than running: nothing announced its end, it simply stopped. We are keeping it because twenty one episodes about a single small town is more depth than Bled gets anywhere else in English, and the material does not date the way news does.

Twelve references, and the most useful thing we can tell you about Slovenia's English provision is which parts of it are quietly broken. Total Slovenia News, the single most cited English language Slovenia resource on the internet, published its last article on 2 September 2022 and never came back, yet it is still linked as live by nearly every relocation guide that ranks. The Ministry of the Interior's old English pages at mnz.gov.si are gone. Worse than a dead link, two official sites load their English URL and then serve Slovenian: infotujci.si/en, the government's own portal for foreigners, and zpiz.si with lang=en, the pension institute. A link checker scores both of those green. We have tested every URL on this page and said where each one leads.

GOV.UK: Living in Slovenia

The UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. A government page with nothing to sell

GOV.SI: Entry and residence

The Slovenian government's own policy portal, run by the Ministry of the Interior. Official, nothing sold

Last updated 12 June 2026, shown on the page, which makes it the most current official English page about moving to Slovenia. It covers entry, residence registration certificates for EU citizens, visas and the Brexit arrangements. Now the caveat that matters more than the page: its permanent residence material is written for EU citizens, and third country nationals, meaning Americans, Canadians and post Brexit Britons, are pushed on to infotujci.si, which does not have an English version. Slovenia's official English provision effectively stops where our readers' questions start.

The Slovenian national e-government portal. Official, and genuinely translated, unlike two of the other official sites on this page

Last updated 22 October 2025 at 11:20, printed on the page itself, which is more precision than most governments manage. This is the page that tells you the rules everyone gets wrong: you must register within eight days, a foreigner needs a permanent residence permit before registering permanent residence, and you have thirty days to update your documents afterwards. There are matching English pages for temporary residence and for visa procedures. If you read one Slovenian government page before you arrive, read this one.

It is written around EU, EEA and Swiss citizens using portable European cover, so a non EU retiree will not find their answer on it. And it is thin: on most questions it directs you to telephone a regional unit, whose opening hours it publishes as Monday and Tuesday 8 to 12 and 1 to 3, Wednesday 8 to 12 and 1 to 5, Friday 8 to 1. The online European health insurance card application does work.

The Financial Administration of the Republic of Slovenia, the tax authority. Official

The single most relevant official English tax page for our readers, and it was last updated on 7 January 2021, which is stated on the page and which you should weigh before relying on it. What it sets out: Slovenia taxes residents on worldwide income; tax residency is triggered by a permanent address, by your family being here, or by 183 days or more in a calendar year; and most of Slovenia's double taxation treaties give the taxing right on a private pension to the country of residence. The English site works and publishes dated statistical releases, which is the point: population by municipality, wages, household spending and housing prices, all sourced and all with a release date on them. In a country where the property market runs on estimates from agents, this is where you check whether a price you have been quoted is a market median or a hopeful asking figure. Use it alongside the land registry data our where to live page cites rather than on its own.

BlogLatest post October 2025

Life in the SLO Lane

Sam Baldwin, a British writer settled in Slovenia and author of Dormice and Moonshine, a book about falling for the country. He sells the book and a small clothing line. No affiliate insurance banners anywhere on it

The best independent blog about living in Slovenia that we could find, and the only one with real first hand depth. Last post October 2025, and the cadence is roughly quarterly, so it is alive but slow. The Slovenia FAQ hub is the part to read first: bureaucracy, the language, healthcare, property costs, employment and a house renovation, all written from having done it rather than from research. Compare it with the affiliate heavy relocation guides and the difference is obvious within a paragraph.

BlogOver 1,000 subscribers

Slovenology, by Noah Charney

Noah Charney, the American author in Slovenia who also hosts The Ljubljana Podcast. Over 1,000 subscribers. Sells his books and courses

A newsletter about Slovenian life and travel from somebody who has lived there for years and writes for a living. Two things to weigh. Roughly half the output is his art crime writing rather than Slovenia, so subscribe expecting a mixed feed. And we could not read a dated latest post from outside the subscription page, so unlike every other entry on this page we cannot tell you when it last published. We would rather say that than imply we checked.

BlogCommercial, interviews

Live in Slovenia

Urska Cehner Gabrielse, a one person relocation consultancy registered in Ljubljana. She sells hourly consultations and full relocation packages, so the guides are marketing adjacent and we are saying so

Listed for one reason: it is the only English language Slovenia site publishing interviews with the people our readers are about to become, including an American couple who chose Slovenia after sixty and a Briton who moved from London to revive a farmhouse. The practical sections on registration, housing, health and schooling are accurate as far as we checked them. One flaw worth knowing: the blog prints dates without years, so you cannot tell from the page how recent a post is.

BlogPublishing 2026

The Slovenia Times

Slovenia's English language news portal, now run by the Slovenian Press Agency according to its own social accounts. Carries a premium subscription tier

Still publishing, with dated 2026 articles on the budget, the elections and national affairs, and it is one of only two English language news sources about the country. The caveat is large enough that we will not bury it: a substantial share of recent output is syndicated commercial newswire copy with no connection to Slovenia at all, filed under its own newswire section. Read it for Slovenian news and learn to recognise the press releases, which announce themselves in the first line.

STA English

The Slovenian Press Agency's English service, the national news agency. The full product is a paid commercial subscription whose price is not published

Article pages are current: recent pieces cover economic growth forecasts, health and foreign affairs, and the numbering is consistent with daily publishing. One oddity we could not resolve and will not pretend we did: the free public front page served us Slovenia Times branded content whose newest item was dated 17 October 2024, while the individual article URLs were current. Treat the articles as live and the home page as unreliable, and check it in a browser before you rely on it as your daily feed.

Communities

Eight organisations, and two absences worth stating plainly. Slovenia has no independent English language forum about living there, only the Slovenia sections of global platforms and Facebook groups. And organised English language club life is Ljubljana only: we searched Maribor, Koper, Piran and the coast and found no club, association or group advertising itself in English anywhere outside the capital. For a reader planning to settle on the coast or in Styria, the honest route in is a local branch of the mountaineering association, which is nationwide and is also the best value membership we have found in any of the twenty one countries.

Community22 euros a year over 65, 2026

Planinska zveza Slovenije, the Alpine Association of Slovenia

The national mountaineering association, an umbrella body of 300 registered local societies. Founded 1893, which we derived from its own April 2026 statement that its new president is the fifteenth in a 133 year history rather than from a stated founding date

SILA, the International Women's Club of Ljubljana

A non governmental, non religious, non profit association founded in 1993 for international women in Slovenia. Slovene women may also join

Roughly 170 members from more than 44 countries, an undated figure on the club's own site. Activities, all in English, include Nordic walking, yoga, painting, mah jong, cooking, reading groups, language classes and cultural trips, which is close to an exact match for what a woman arriving at sixty asks for. Now the part other directories will not tell you. The website is effectively abandoned: its newest content is a 2016 bazaar page and a general meeting dated January 2018, and the 50 euro annual fee and the named officers we can find were reported in October 2018. Elections were held on 12 March 2024 but the new officers are not published anywhere we could reach, and we could verify no dated 2025 or 2026 event. The club's live presence has moved to Facebook and Instagram. Email or telephone before you rely on any of it: [email protected], +386 1 521 15 00, meetings the second Tuesday of the month at Hotel Lev.

The International Church of Ljubljana

An English language, multinational Christian congregation founded in 2002. Free to attend, no membership fee

Sunday worship at 5pm at Celovska cesta 43, communion on the first Sunday of the month, weekly prayer meetings, midweek Bible studies and seasonal shared meals. Senior pastor Rev. Todd Hunnicutt. For a newcomer over sixty a church congregation is one of the few reliable ways into a community that does not depend on the language, and this is the main English speaking one in the country. Two things we could not verify: the site publishes no telephone number or email, only a contact form, and its events page returns a 404, so we found no dated 2026 activity on the site itself. The congregation's Facebook page is more current than the website.

English Mass Ljubljana, St Joseph's

The Jesuit College in Ljubljana, which describes this as the only English language Catholic Mass in the city. Free

Sundays at 10am at the Church of St Joseph, presided over by Fr. Damjan Ristic SJ. The page explicitly welcomes non Slovenian Christians to worship in the language they understand best, which is an unusually direct statement of purpose. Listed as the Catholic alternative to the international church above, and for the same reason: it is a weekly fixed point in English that costs nothing and asks nothing. No email or telephone is published and the page carries no dated 2026 event, only the standing weekly Mass.

Community908 members, September 2026

Ljubljana International

An informal Meetup group, not a registered association. Free to join and free to attend, you pay only for what you order. No organiser is named anywhere on the page, which we would rather flag than not

908 members, read off the page on 18 September 2026, and unlike a Facebook figure that number is displayed live rather than claimed. It has real dated activity: a Saturday night social on 22 August 2026 and recurring Friday international and after work meetups running through September 2026, which makes it the most demonstrably alive social group in the country. The honest caveat, and it is a big one for our readers: these are bar based socials that skew twenties to forties. Listed with that warning rather than omitted, because a newcomer at fifty five may well find it works and a reader at seventy should know what they are walking into.

CommunitySingle digit replies, 2026

Expat.com Slovenia forum

The Slovenia section of a global expat platform, not a Slovenian forum. Free, English, open to all

We are publishing the actual traffic rather than a round number, because the numbers make the point better than we could. Read on 18 September 2026: the 2026 introductions thread, started by a moderator, has zero replies and 34 views; a thread on buying property to invest had two replies, the most recent in late August 2026; a thread on finding agricultural work had one reply seven months ago. There is a retiring to Slovenia thread. So it is alive, and it is alive at single digit reply volume. That is the honest state of English language conversation about Slovenia online, and it is why we have built this page.

CommunityChartered 2020, fee not published

Rotary Club Ljubljana International

Chartered in 2020 and registered in Slovenia at Nazorjeva ulica 2, Ljubljana. English is the club's official language, which is what separates it from the two older Ljubljana Rotary clubs, both of which operate in Slovene

Members include professors, diplomats, doctors, business people and artists, Slovenes and foreigners together, and the club is explicit that it admits both women and men. That is the appeal for a retired professional who wants structure rather than a bar. Now the evidence, which is thinner than we would like: no joining fee is published, no meeting day, time or venue is published, the most recent downloadable document on the site is the annual report for 2021 to 2022, and the only officer we could name is Peter Ilgo, with no year attached. We found no dated 2026 activity. Worth an email, not worth an assumption.

CommunityCorporate members only

AmCham Slovenia

The American Chamber of Commerce in Slovenia. Membership is corporate: companies join, individuals do not, and there is no associate or retiree category we could find

Listed with a clear limit: this is business networking, and it is relevant only to a reader arriving at fifty five or sixty who is still working or consulting. If that is you, it is the most demonstrably active organisation on this page, with dated events through September and November 2026 including its 28th annual general assembly on 28 to 30 September 2026. It claims more than 450 member companies and a wider community of about 4,700 people, both undated. No fee is published. Membership contact Ljubica Mlinar Pesec. The 28th assembly implies a founding around 1998, which is our inference rather than a stated fact.

CommunityCounts not published anywhere

The Facebook groups, and why we publish no numbers

Independent groups run by their members. Expats in Slovenia is public; the International Club of Slovenia has run since 2004 and has no website at all, only the group

We could not obtain a member count for a single Slovenia expat Facebook group, at any date, from any source. Facebook blocks automated reading and no article we found quotes a figure for any of these groups in any year. Rather than publish a round number nobody can stand behind, we are publishing none, which we think tells you more. The two groups we verified exist are Expats in Slovenia and the International Club of Slovenia. A widely copied 2017 round up names eleven others, from International Friends Ljubljana to Expat Support Slovenia; it is nine years old and we did not re-verify any of them, so treat that list as a starting point for your own search and not as current.

How this list was made

We searched YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Apple Podcasts, Slovenia's own government sites in English and every club and association directory we could find, for English language sources about moving to and living in Slovenia, then kept the ones with a real audience and evidence they are still publishing. We favoured people who live there over people who visited, and material aimed at adults planning a permanent move. Anything with no upload or post in twelve months was dropped, except two podcasts we have deliberately kept and clearly labelled as stopped. Slovenia's English language creator field is the smallest of the twenty one countries we have built, and this page shows it at that size rather than padding it.

Audience figures. Every YouTube subscriber count was read off the channel's own page on 18 September 2026 and every Instagram follower count off the profile itself on the same day. Every upload date comes from the channel's official feed and is exact, and every video shown was confirmed by YouTube's oEmbed service to belong to the channel named. That check earned its place on this page: our first pass paired one video with the wrong channel's title, and the oEmbed check caught it. The three TikTok follower counts are third party approximations, because TikTok is the one platform we cannot read directly. Podcast episode counts and dates come from Apple's lookup service rather than the rendered Apple pages, which report episode dates wrong by a year or two. Association fees and membership figures were read off each organisation's own pages, and where a figure carries no date we say so on the card.

What we dropped, and why, because the omissions are the useful part here. Anna in Slovenia, a Canadian on a farm near Trzic and the channel every Slovenia list recommends first, last uploaded on 18 November 2024 and is out on the twelve month rule. Foreigners Speak Slovene last uploaded in June 2018. Go Slovenia has an English name, an English handle and 6,240 subscribers, and its videos are in Russian. sLOVEnians travel is run from Austria and stopped in July 2024. Slovely.eu reads as an English brand and is an Italian language portal whose latest video is about Austria. Slovenian Girl Abroad is a Slovene living in Switzerland. Taste of Slovenia has nine subscribers. Slovenia Vacation has published 260 videos to 52 subscribers since February 2023, which is a content farm and we will not link it. On Instagram, igslovenia is reported by third party trackers at about 99,800 followers; the live profile shows 133 followers and zero posts, which is a good reason to read profiles rather than trackers. The eight photographers who dominate every best of Slovenia Instagram list were flown in by the tourist board for a press trip dated July 2017 and live in Finland, Germany, Canada and the United States. Barbara Horvat, ranked eighth on one influencer index for Slovenia, is a Slovenian actress based in California.

Broken and misleading links we tested ourselves. Total Slovenia News, the most cited English language Slovenia resource on the internet, published its last article on 2 September 2022 and is still linked as live by nearly every guide that ranks; it is frozen, not hijacked. The Ministry of the Interior's old English pages at mnz.gov.si no longer serve, and the deep links to them are still being copied into relocation guides. The old business portal at eugo.gov.si is gone, replaced by SPOT. Two official sites are worse than dead: infotujci.si/en and zpiz.si with lang=en both load, never return a 404, and serve Slovenian, so a link checker scores them green while a reader gets nothing. One FURS path and one plausible looking gov.si residence permits path both return hard 404s. On podcasts, FluentFiction Slovenian publishes machine generated daily episodes and ranks well on Slovenian podcast searches; we name it and refuse to link it. We found no case of a former Slovenia expat blog turned into an affiliate or casino site: the failure mode here is that things simply stop and stay where they are.

Disclosure. This page is curated, not paid for. Nobody on it has paid to be here and nobody can. Where a creator or organisation sells something, from guided treks and food tours to relocation consulting, books, cave tickets or a paid news tier, we have said so on their card. Outbound links to creators run through our own redirect so we can count clicks and tell a listed creator how many readers we sent them; we take nothing from that traffic. We embed only the official players that YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and Apple provide and we do not copy anyone's images to our servers. If you make honest English language content about living in Slovenia and you are not here, tell us.
